Inspired by the ride
The artwork in these books began with photographs I took while traveling with my son to lessons, horse shows, and equestrian events around Virginia. Over the years, I spent countless hours watching from arena rails and barn aisles, anxiously waiting for his turn, noticing the improvements that came from one lesson to the next. I took many pictures along the way! Those photographs became a record of the anticipation, effort, setbacks, pride, and connection that are such an important part of learning to ride. The illustrations in Whisper & Rein books grow from those good times and fond memories.
